Dear Esteemed Members of the Korean Society for Surgery of the Hand,

My name is Byung-Sung Kim, and it is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I assume the position of Chair of the Board of Directors of the Korean Society for Surgery of the Hand. Thanks to the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our former Presidents, former Chairs, and all our members who have devoted themselves to the advancement of our Society, we have continued to grow and progress even in the face of the most challenging circumstances.

The aftereffects of the ongoing medical policy conflicts still persist, and significant changes in the healthcare environment are anticipated in the years ahead. Grounded in the steadfast commitment and passion of our members, I pledge to move forward resolutely to ensure the continued development of our Society amid these changes. By strengthening our academic activities and international collaborations, I will do my utmost to ensure that the scholarly achievements of our Society lead to meaningful and tangible improvements in clinical practice.

As a dedicated servant of the Society, I will actively listen to the voices of our members in this rapidly evolving medical landscape and work in close cooperation with the Board members to guide our Society's progress. During my term, I will place strong emphasis on enhancing education for subspecialty hand surgeons and residents. In particular, I will strive to expand the influence of our Society through initiatives such as textbook publication projects and the indexing of our AHM, SCOPUS and PubMed. Our Society possesses the strength to overcome any adversity, and through this resilience, we will continue to lead the advancement of the field of hand surgery.

In closing, I would like to once again express my deepest gratitude to our former Presidents, former Chairs, and all executive officers. I kindly ask for your continued support and encouragement throughout my term. Your interest and confidence will be a great source of strength to me.
