It\'s my great pleasure to announce that the 2013 Hong Kong International Wrist Arthroscopy Workshop and Seminar is scheduled to be held on 16-18 November 2013. We have invited a strong international faculty panel of over 25 overseas and local experts to conduct the course.
Like in the previous years, the design of the course framework is three folded :
1. Clinical workshop on chronic wrist pain management, including hands-on skill training on wrist examination and clinical cases evaluation
2. Symposium on scaphoid fracture, nonunion and related wrist problems, with highlight on role of arthroscopy
3. Cadaveric workshop on wrist arthroscopy, divided into basic and advanced course.
The new exciting element of this year is a cadaveric workshop on total wrist replacement and percutaneous scaphoid fixation on Day 3. This will be conducted by Dr. Guillaume Herzberg of France and Dr. Michel Boeckstyns of Denmark, who are world leaders in joint replacement surgery of the wrist. The target will be those participants of the advanced course on day 2.
My wish for the course is to enable the participants not only to acquire the essential technique in wrist arthroscopy, but also to understand well the principle of application in different clinical scenarios of chronic wrist pain management. In my mind, a thorough understanding on the basic disease pathology, a well conducted clinical assessment and systematic analysis of chronic wrist pain conditions basing on various clinical information, together with proper indications and techniques on arthroscopic intervention, is crucial to attain success in treatment.
The courses have been widely recognized as one of the leading courses in the world since we first launched this in 1997 and participants came from many countries and areas every time.
