HKSSH Asian-Pacific Scholarship 2010
 Purpose
The scholarship aims at providing an one-off financial support to young hand surgeons from Asian-Pacific region who intend to participate in the Annual Congress of the Society and the HKSSH Week Programme.
 Amount
i. The scholarship provides a grant of HK$ 6,000 per applicant.
ii. Two scholarships are available for application this year.
iii. All successful applicants will enjoy waiving of the registration fee for the Annual Congress and Week Programme of the Society. They will also be invited to participate in all social functions during the event including the welcoming dinner and annual banquet.
 Qualification
The applicant should preferably be a young surgeon (< 40 years old) in active practice of Hand surgery and/or microsurgery as applicable to orthopaedic practice.
 Application procedure
The applicant shall send an e-mail to the Secretary of the Society on or before the 31st December, 2010 together with a brief curriculum vitae and a copy of personal photo.
 Deadline of application
The deadline is 31st  December, 2010.
 Duty of successful applicant
i. The applicant should participate in the Annual Congress and the Week Programme of the HKSSH personally.
ii. The applicant should present a scientific paper during the Annual Congress in English.
The content of the paper should be relevant to Hand Surgery or
Microsurgery applicable to orthopaedic practice.
iii. Under normal circumstances , the scholarship will be granted to individual during the Annual Congress, provided that the applicant has undertaken the duty to present a paper during the Congress.
iv. The applicant is encouraged to participate in all social functions during the Annual Congress and the Week Programme.
v. The applicant should be responsible for paying his/her own accommodation and transport fee during his/her visit in Hong Kong.
